ISTRADE 2016 | Energy Trade and Supply Summit hosted, on its second day, “Energy Trade Panel in the Light of Energy Legislation and Case Law” moderated by the founding partner of our office Değer Boden accompanied with speakers Dr. Mustafa Yavuz, Dr. Ertuğrul Akçaoğlu and Cengiz Güneş. The panel, in which trending topics in energy market such as legal nature of TRT share, latest developments on TRT share, new tariffs, compliance among legislations, compliance among court orders are discussed, gained attention of energy companies.

Boden Academy held a round-table meeting on the Iran Sanction Relief and effects of this Relief to Turkey and the Region in the Energy Sector on 20 October 2015 at the Adahan Hotel. Representatives from reputable energy companies, financial institutions and investment banks attended the meeting.
The issues discussed in the meeting included:
– the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action of 14 July 2015 and its effect and applicability;
– diversification of natural gas supply;
– current, proposed and potential pipelines through Turkey and
– the legal tools for the protection of investments towards Iran.

Değer Boden spoke at Kluwer Arbitration’s 2nd Annual Turkey & Middle East Summit that took place on 9 September 2015 at Grand Hyatt İstanbul. Ms. Boden’s presentation was entitled “Bilateral Treaties Disputes – Turkey and the Region”.
The presentation covered issues such as:
– The nature of bilateral treaty disputes,
– Dispute resolution mechanisms available under BITs, and
– Key issues in cases involving Turkey’s BITs.

Boden Law hosts the “Conference on Dispute Avoidance and Investment Protection in the Energy Sector”, which will take place on 27 May 2014, at the Mövenpick Hotel, Istanbul.
The conference will be in two parts:
1. Dispute Avoidance – focusing on dispute avoidance strategies in the energy sector.
2. Investment Protection – discussions on investment protections provided under investment treaties for energy investments of foreign investors.
The panel of speakers will include regional and international experts. The conference will be available only for a limited number of invited participants.
