23 May 2019: The first Energy Disputes Conference of ISTAC, organized by ISTAC’s Energy Commission

The first Energy Disputes Conference of ISTAC, organized by ISTAC’s Energy Commission took place in Istanbul on 23 May 2019. Boden was among the sponsors of the event. Our Managing Partner Değer Boden spoke in the 1st Panel regarding “The Future of Energy Related Investment Arbitration”, and our Senior Associate Ayşegül Önol spoke about “Main Issues to Consider When Trading Electricity in Turkey”.

Turkey Chapter of GAR Investment Treaty Arbitration is available now!

Our managing partner Değer Boden, our associates Şeyma Olğun and Nazlı Aytu Özcan have contributed to the Turkey chapter of Global Arbitraion Review Investment Treaty Arbitration. Chapter covers Turkey’s all bilateral and multilateral investment treaties as well as free trade agreements with investment chapters, and aims to provide brief information on their content. We are so pleased to have contributed to that comprehensive work!

24 January 2019: Prof. Dr. Tolga Ayoglu, Atty. Mediator Inanç Akalin and Atty. Ceren Akkur Speaks at Boden Academy’s Round-Table Meeting on “Mediation in Commercial Disputes”

Boden Academy held a round-table discussion on “Mediation in Commercial Disputes” with the attendance of Prof. Dr. Tolga Ayoğlu (Galatasaray University, School of Law, Professor of Commercial Law), Atty. Mediator İnanç Akalın (Of counsel, Boden Law) and Atty. Ceren Akkur (Senior Associate, Boden Law) as speakers on 24 January 2019. Legal advisers and representatives of reputable companies attended the meeting. In the meeting, the concept of mediation, the advantages of mediation, commercial cases and certain types of disputes to be considered as falling under the scope of mandatory mediation, mandatory mediation in case of invalid arbitration clause and possible effects of mandatory mediation on the enforcement and set-aside processes were also discussed.
